The Archdiocese for the Military Services
Everyone in the Church belongs to a diocese—a “diocese” is made up of all the Catholics under the ‘command’ of their bishop and is usually based on what city or state we live in. Large and important dioceses are called “arch” dioceses. When you join the military, you and your immediate family are ‘PCS’d’ into the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. The Military Archdiocese, a non-territorial diocese, was set up to take care of the unique spiritual needs of the 1.4 million U.S. military connected Catholics—no matter where we are in the world.
Our Archdiocese is not a government agency and receives no government funds.
Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio was named the fourth Archbishop of the Military Services, USA, and installed on 25 January 2008, the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul. Archbishop Broglio is fluent in English, Italian, Spanish and French.
Bishop Joseph Estabrook assists Archbishop Broglio and oversees Catholics Seeking Christ as well as the other evangelization and vocations programs of the Office of Evangelization of the Military Archdiocese.
The Office of Evangelization
The Office of Evangelization develops Catholics Seeking Christ materials and methods, oversees leadership training, and tracks the growth of CSC groups at installations around the world. Mark Moitoza, D.Min. serves as the Director of the Office of Evangelization.
May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you.
