Catholics Seeking Christ is led by young adults in military communities.
What is the role of a leader?
There are three kinds of CSC leaders:- Leaders are young adults trained to organize and lead a CSC group or groups at an installation, ship or other area.
- Senior leaders support all the leaders at their location.
- Mentors have the military background and knowledge, leadership experience and desire to support CSC leaders locally. Often, mentors are chapel workers, retired military or senior officers.
A CSC leader is
- a person who seeks to know more about Christ and his Church
- a person who is looking to invite and welcome others
- a person who strives to pray both individually and with others (attending Mass)
- a person that is not afraid to say “I don’t know.”
- a person who is willing to share their experiences of faith
- a person who is willing to meet and collaborate with the Chaplain and the CSC mentor
Becoming a leader
If you’re interested in becoming a leader, or just have some questions, contact us! You can also check to see if there is an active CSC group at your military installation (go to the Group Locator). By participating in a group you can experience what CSC is all about.
If CSC is not located in your area, contact the Catholic chaplain at your location, or contact us.
Training
The Office of Evangelization arranges CSC training workshops at installations to train Leaders to effectively lead and sustain CSC groups. We can also train you using distance learning methods if you are deployed or at sea.
If you are a Catholic chaplain, DRE or other chapel staff, find out more about getting CSC started at your installation by arranging a training. See information for Chaplains.
